| Oil viscosity has an inverse relationship with temperature. In normal terms: As the oil warms up, it becomes thinner. This allows the oil to flow more freely, and reduces the pressure required to move it. Im confident there are some guys on here with something higher than a high school education (guilty here) and have more in depth information on this than I do. That being said, I could be off on this and hopefully someone smarter can chime in on it.
